What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

If both of our names are on the lease do i have a say if i don't want to allow a new person moving it to sublet his room for the last few months of the agreement?

There's good reason for this, that's too long to get into, just wanna know if that's within my rights.

Yes you do. It can also be constructive eviction if the roommate moves in someone against your will.

Is your room-mate your landlord ?

If not ,the sublets can only approved by the landlord . That request can not be reasonably be denied.

Having said that since you are on the lease and it's a room-mate situation ,you should have a say.
