What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? New York
Good day. Have a judgment over$3000.00 against an individual in small claims court New York. Doesn't seem as if person has any viewable assets. If individual is gainfully employed can I attempt to ask employer for help to collect? If yes what is the procedure and estimated cost? Thanks in advance.

Come on Guys! Perhaps chips just wants to ask the boss if he can have a little talk with the debtor. Ya know...all Goodfellas like. ;)

IF NY allows wage attachments then YES by following ALL the correct steps you can levy against wages ....but merely asking won't cut it .

you can do it yourself if you follow the steps ...otherwise it might be 40% to some lawyer to do it for you . IF and that's a big IF, your award grants collection costs you might be able to tack on the collection fees ...but if it's not there..well it's not there .

I be done successful wage levies in NJ but not NY ...details differ. ...but I used NJ attorney who knows the state quirks.

A freeze potentially could be placed on the debtor's bank account, as well.

Zigner's link outlines the ways to collect on a judgment.
