What is the name of your state? New Jersey & PA

Hi all, first time posting on these forum's looks like a very interesting place.

About 5 years ago I got married and moved to PA rented an APT that was perfect for my income etc. Unforunitly as life turns out things got rough lost job etc and struggled to stay there.

Eventually the rent payment which had increased as per the lease was to much for me to handle and me and my wife decided to move back to NJ. We had notified the APT landlord by word of mouth as they had been working with us in the past few months but we did not pay May's Rent which was the month we moved. They did eventually file and recieve a judgement in small claims court against us, which i just noticed on my credit and am more then willing to pay off since it is what I owe. But my question is - when i do pay this off - will this stay on my rental credit as now i have a great job and can afford to get things on the up and up but I am worried the mistakes i made when i was younger and more foolish may of caused me alot more problems then i thought at the time.

Any information is helpful. I live in New Jersey now but the rental was in PA that I am speaking of above.

Warm Regards,
Bill

There is no such thing as a 'rental credit' report.
If you mean, credit report, the judgment can remain for its full SOL, plus 7 years... or 7 years after payment.
If you mean some kind of 'renter clearinghouse', it would depend on their policies.

If you really want to resolve this, negotiate a removal or favorable comment to either 'file'.

ah Ok see i did not know that.

I do appreciate your help, who would i try and work to resolve this matter with, my former landlords or the courts that imposed the judgement?

Thank You,
Bill

You would negotiate with the judgment holder.
