can i sue my union

Colorado. I am a member of a labor union and have been for over 28 years. In the last couple of elections the new president, vice president, branch presidents, etc handpick who they want to run. If you disagree with something they do, they won't even speak to you. I filed internal charges last winter, and appealed them to the national level in march, only to be ignored by them also. Is this a matter for a lawyer? They took an oath to abide by the union constitution and refuse to do so. Can they be held accountable, even though national also does nothing?

You are a little light in what actions or statements the national office made. When you say you filed internal charges, what, exactly was the charge filed and what was the justification for finding against your grievance?

the other problem is that what you claim as the problem isn't illegal in itself. Anybody can suggest or nominate anybody for an office basically. The bylaws rule the specific acts. Nobody really has a requirement to speak with you. If that results in some actual claim against the officer, that is something else
