i'm a shareholder of a coop, the apt can be subletted with Board's approval. the management company posted a notice on the lobby bulletin saying that if a tenant moves in/out would need to notify them 5 biz days. i submitted my sublet application about a month ago, and have yet heard from the Board. since i dont actually live there and didnt attend any meeting, i dont know who are the members and when i asked the management office for their contact info, she said she'sun able to disclose, and she'd forward my concern/problem to her then she will forward it to them. But still, no words from them.
Can i sue the Board to my loss of rent income? thanks

Can you? Yes. (Heck, you can sue me if you want).

But do you have any legitimate grounds for winning a lawsuit? Not really. Even assuming sublets are permitted, the board is still allowed to screen your subtenants via interview. Granted, they should hold interviews more than once a year, but beyond that, you can't really force the board to do something they have discretion over. (Not to mention your alleged damages are beyond speculative).

Best chance you have is to run for the board yourself and try change the policies you don't like.
