Hi! I am in Maryland.

I am currently only working 6 hours a week. My family is desperate for money considering we do not make enough to pay for our bills and rent and most of the time it is difficult for us just to pay the bills. We do not qualify for any government assistance. I am disabled due to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I bring home approximately $100 every two weeks. Should I quit my job as a CNA or can I still be approved in the same amout of time working these 6 hours a week? I don't want to jepordize anything that would help my case but the money sure does help. I can't work anymore than 6 hours a week due to the fatigue.

Thanks for your help!

Are you under a doctor's care? The only way to find out if you qualify for disability is to contact SSA and begin the application process. 800-772-1213

Maybe. Your gross wages of about $250 a month do not demonstrate the ability to engage in substantial gainful activity. But you are still going to have to prove that you cannot work enough to earn $1000 a month by medical evidence. File a claim. Provide all the information. Expect it to be complicated and that you will have to provide a great deal of information.
