My girlfriend is here (Georgia) on a J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa with a 212(e) waiver. Her DS2019 says she must return in May 2009, provided she doesn't take on an internship for an extra 3 months.

She is interested in continuing her studies in the US for the remainder of her education (approx. 2 more years). She is in the ISEP program and her sponsor is her university in Germany.

Is there any possibility to make this happen?

Also, would getting married make a difference?

Thank you

It appears that she must change her status to F-1 from what I have gathered so far. Anyone have more information on this?

Thanks
