What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Exactly how much does this patent cover?

Does it basically cover any heated glass method? I mean if I wanted to create a heated glass product that had the glass covered in a metal, and two rods on the sides, would this be against the law? As in they are the only ones allowed to make heated glass?

You should definitely consult a patent attorney before moving forward with your plans. The reason is because there are often fine distinction that allow one to use a seemingly propriety process without legal incident. In this case, the patent covers only making glass encased metal through this method, however, that doesn't mean that others are prohibited from making a similar product using a different method.
