Our home is currently in the foreclosure process after a relief from stay was granted during a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. We have been told that 100% of our equity should be protected under the bankruptcy. What process is used in figuring the equity? Do they go by the appraisal value versus the amount owed on the mortgage or do they go by the original loan amount versus the amount owed on the mortgage?
