What is the name of your state? nebraska can the police department notify your employer of your arrest. and can they release details of same arrest before thecase has been to trial or dismissed

Arrests are public information. They might have had no reason to tell your employer, but it was not likely a violation of any law or policy.

In some states, it's required of law enforcement to notify the arrestee's employer: such as teachers in CA. & law enforcement - cops, d.a.s, etc.

If the investigator had a question pertaining to the case which the employer could answer, so be it... In many areas, the police blotter is printed in the local paper, for all to read.
