Still having issues with this new property manager.
While this one is probably classified as paranoia, but if so, that should show the stress I am under.
I am the care-taker there - been so for 6yrs. Been living there for 11yrs.
My fear has always been that if I do not continue to work for them* I will be evicted.
This fear not unfounded. Along with depression and bi-polar, my wife has Asperger, which creates many boundary issues. The main one is her high volume and violent outbreaks, which can be heard down the hall, sometimes there are foul in nature. fortunately, where we were at, no one could hear. last year we moved down the hall, and got a complaint. property manager said that if I wasn't working for him, he would evict us.
we never save up money to move (as we want to retire here), and our credit is horrid - mine was good until recently with a credit card issue. So in short, we would be homeless.
I know from being on the team, he has already used the "you are not a good fit for here" on three other tenants (coincidentally they have a mental issue as well).
1. I know land lords do not need a rason to evict, just a 30 day notice
2. I now being tied up as an employee, they also have to give a good reason to terminate

how can we save our home?
What options do we have

my currnet fears:
A. Will use the wife to evict
B. If I want to quit they will evict

*When he arrived last year, he brought his own team. and didn't even look at my work. it was as if I did not exist. But still got paid. He did not entertain full time, so I am $750 month plus an apartment.

Cheers

When was the last time your wife had her meds adjusted ? or evaluated ? There really isn't any thing you can do to prevent them from deciding your services are no longer needed BUT since it sounds like you are getting the apartment along with some kind of compensation you really should act now and start exploring housing for people with disabilities or senior type housing programs, while time is on your side! ( years ago friends of mine who were caretakers for one building in Brooklyn park also got the apartment with the job and when they were terminated they didn't have a lot of time to get out since they were employees)
