I am a currently college student living in a different state than I received my traffic ticket in. I cannot appear on my tickets (97 / 65) specified date since I must be present for an exam on the same day. My professor will not reschedule the exam, and I think that dropping a course because of this is silly. Can I reschedule the mandatory traffic court appearance? I tried calling the county and requesting a date change, but they pretty much laughed at my idea. Should I send the court a notice? Otherwise, I may receive a warrant and probably face suspension.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

How about just paying the ticket? Ask the court (clerk of the court) to try to extend the date. BEG, PLEAD.

Otherwise, pay the tickets and be careful next time.
