What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

I signed a 12 month Lease and paid 1st mo. plus Sec deposit to execute Lease. Due to not being able leave PA, I am unable to move to the new rental property in FL. The Landlord refuses to give me back the 2000.00 initial pmt which is understandable.

My question is IF the Realtor is able to list the property again and find tenants to execute a Lease on the home, should I be relinquished of my liability to pay the Lease for 12 months plus receive my Security Deposit back?

You would be responsible for the rent until a new tenant can be found; at that point, your financial obligation would end. The landlord/management has an obligation to make an honest effort to rerent the unit (in other words, they can't sit around for the next year doing absolutely nothing to rerent the place).

Your security deposit..minus any fees needed to advertise the rental...should be returned to you.
