Fl...If I am repeating I apologize, but it looked as if nothing I just wrote other than the subject "took". I will shorten it in this case. In a nutshell: Car was just booted in my parking spot in the condo I own. The day before I'd gotten a sticker on my car from some never before heard of tow company WARNING me I was illegally parked because I was backed into my spot(for anyone not familiar, down here we only have a BACK tag, no front like when I lived in NY). I have NEVER, in the 7 1/2 yrs I've lived here, been notified by the HOA that we are not allowed to back in-so I ignored this "warning" to find I was booted today. I believe it must be illegal and want some recourse-this is about to cost me $120 to remove! The sign outside says ILLEGAL CARS WILL BE TOWED. Nothing said anywhere about HOW to park!

About the only thing I can think of is to raise a major stink with your HOA, or stop backing into your parking space. You could try calling the police to claim that the tow company illegal booted your car, but they may or may not do anything.

According to the Florida Condominium Act, which I assume applies to your community, the association has to maintain "A copy of the current rules of the association" as part of their Official Records. Ask them for a copy, and see if parking backwards is against the rules.

**A: when you got the warning sticker, you should have contacted both the tow company and the Board or property manager about the rules. Contact them and post back.

If a vehicle in your complex backs into a stall and parks, there is no way the tow company can see the parking permit (tag) and thus has to determine that the car is illegally parked. Hence you were given the boot.
Did you ever notice that all the other cars were parked front end in?

To answer all at once....I did attempt to contact the office the day I got the warning...seems they were closed till Monday(it was Friday). I do have my permit clearly visible in FRONT so as to make it EASIER, actually, for any who needs to check. I am not the only one who backs into my space(and obviously not the only one booted) and I went through all documents I received about the Rules and Regulations when I bought the place and the only mention is has on parking is I must have a valid tag(I do) and I must display a parking decal(I do). NOWHERE does he say how I must park.Inthe interim, I emailed the HOA and requested they let me know exactly how and when I was supposedly notified of the new "rules"

I would suggest a question as to who authorized the company to come onto the property to do the "booting" as well.

We did that, and it was taken care of real fast.
