What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Hi, I recently had a car with a bunch of check engine lights on. I took it to a huge dealership and they called me about 5 hours later saying that they were looking into the check engine codes but everything else was fine. **He stated that the Battery was lose or disconnected but good and that everything else they were unable to verify(a/c issues and door locks).

issue is.
They called me shortly after saying they need to put 80 miles on it and suggested that he was going to have a tech take it home for the night and have it back tomorrow morning. He explained that the issue was related to "bad gas"... which I thought was BS because the check engine light said "shift solenoid failure" I first said no and said "80 miles what the hell?" he then corrected his statement and said "sorry only 40 miles" I was frustrated and just said ok and asked about his insurance. He said his insurance covers his drivers while in customer cars.

Little secret.

I have GPS in my car and tracked this "tech", the guy drove 54 miles to his house... The GPS alerted me that he was speeding. The tech then took my car from his house then to the local bar/restaurant and then back home.

the next day I didn't hear from them so I called the dealer around 4pm and said I would like to come pick up my car. They explained that it wasn't ready... I let the cat out of the bag and told them that the GPS shows my car at the techs house 54 miles away. Another tech looked into my work order and said that all of a sudden it had a bad battery and that it didn't start in the morning.. He also said that he had been into the parts department that afternoon to get a new one.

I just checked my GPS and hes now at another house in his city with my car.

if he got a new battery from the dealer how did he get there?
why didnt the dealer have it towed to prevent further damage if something was draining the battery?
Why are they working on my car outside a controlled environment?

I told them that they could take the car to and from work but not around the city and not to put over 160 miles on it.

I am so frustrated that my car is driving around a city 50 miles away doing god knows what.

What can I do?

I would be raising hell with the owner of the dealership. He'd be the President or the CEO listed in the corporation papers filed with:

While you're at, call the consumer advocates at your local TV stations and see if you can get the idiots some bad publicity.
