What is the name of your state? Michigan Is there any where in the laws for figuring Child Support that says someones casino earnings can be included as income? How do I find out? Also, where does the state come up with the amounts that are allowed for other children in the home? They are rather low compared to the child that has to be paid on. I am talking about half brothers or sisters that live with the non custodial parent who has to pay on a child that lives with CP. The credit that they get for having to take care of the child at home is very low.

If you are talking about gambling winnings...then its the "profit" that would count as income, not an occasional win. Its very rare for someone to actually make a profit from gambling.

I would presume that if you want it treated as a business income, you'd need to calculate both the losses and wins together. Betcha, unless it's a one time big win, when you subtract the losses from the wins, there's more losses. Few come out ahead gambling on any consistant basis.

I was curious about the casino earnings because CP is the luckiest person I know. Goes to the boats at least 3 times a week and always comes home with more money then went with. Didn't know if casino's had record of winnings and it could be used in child support income.
