What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

I was told to appear on June 26th with a copy of my son's diploma to show prrof that he graduted from high school so that the child support case for him could be closed. He turned 18 on July 3rd. I did as I was instructed to do and brought his diploma, which they made a copy and turned over to a CSE officer in the courtroom. The attorney then told me that it was done so I left. However, the problem is that they are still taking payments out of my paycheck. I have consistently tried to call but only get a busy signal. Now my son is 18 and yet child support is still coming out of my check. My question is should I get an attorney to handle this or is there a way for me to handle this myself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Office 3 hours away

CSE office is 3 hours away (6 hours round trip) and I haven't been able to take the time off of work yet. I really don't want to have to drive there b/c of the rising cost of gas. However, if this is what I have to do to get them to explain things to me, I will. I am just afraid that they will tell me that I have to wait and they will still take out the money out of my check.

6hrs. round trip or one month of child support which you'll probably never get back.

Which is cheaper? You decide.
