California I have been sued in Small Claims Court in Monterey County, California. I live in Los Angeles County. They are far away.-several hours drive, more on the bus, etc.

The plaintiff lives in Monterey County. He is suing me regarding property I own in that county.

I am disabled, and it is hard for me to travel that far. Furthermore, it would be hard for me to take the amount of time needed off work to travel to Monterey County.

Any chance that if I requested a change of venue to Los Angeles County, that it might be granted? (Or no chance, due to the property being in Monterey County?)

I appreciate any insight into this question. Thank you.

If you are being sued related to property, and the property is located in Monterey county, then Monterey county really is the proper venue. You will have to find a way to get there.
