I hired on with a large company to do marketing. No specific position was told to me nor was any paperwork drawn up as to what position I wuld be in. I am now upset with their primitive marketing techniques that run me all over the area and want to come into the store. My boss has hinted that there may be a pay rate change as I was hired for sales. I contend that as long as there is no paperwork to that effect they cannot reduce my wage if I elect to take another postition.

I am also contecting the payment of .25 per mile for using my vehicle for company business. Based on today's fuels costs this is not getting it. What do most companies reimburse for vehicle usage?

Thank You

You are right that the position you were hired for, its details, are fuzzy at best. Yet that really doesn't give you much to stand on since the employer can certainly terminate you at any time, with or without a reason. This is presuming you are in a state that has an at-will employment law policy. As to the average company's reimbursement amount for vehicle costs, I would have no way of knowing that rate. Sorry!
