What is the name of your state?California
My employeer on seperate occasions changed my time card and refused payment of my hours for the following reasons...
Changed my timecard a week(s) later saying that I was at lunch for longer then I had been marked on the official time card, and did this without notifing me. Or that I left work sooner then had been marked down on the time sheet. Again after a week had gone by, so I had no way of verifying or disputing the time.
Has changed my time card on numerous occasions to read 8 hours If I had worked over 8 hours in a day. To avoid paying me overtime and avoided paying me at all for the over 8 hours a day. I did not even receive my regular pay for this time. Is this legal? I have been told that overtime is not allowed by the company, but my job requires me to stay past 8 hours a day on occasion. Can he deny me my regular wage for that time or can he deny me overtime pay.
This is always done without my notification or consent. He simply changes the time card and sends it to payroll, which is handled by a seperate firm. I have asked all the employees at the company if this has ever happened to them, and no one has had there time card changed except me.
