What is the name of your state? Indiana My fiancee filed chapter 7 bankruptcy two years ago. She was working and worked all the way up until last year in April and then was laid off and just recently returned to work.

She just got her first check today and there was a deduction on her paycheck and she could not figure out what it was. She files single and claims zero exemptions and did not ask to have extra money taken out of her paycheck.

She had a coworker tell her it looked like a garnishment. She has received no papers in the mail from any creditors or court.

This is our question. Can someplace garnish your wages without your knowledge. How does she find out who it is and for what? Can they garnish her wages for a debt that was released in the bankruptcy?
