Hi,

Our company has a chargeback case where the customer was been with us for sometime and used up most of the perishable items and nothing to return to us. It is been morethan 6 months since he joined our online grocery shop and started buying. Everytime we call, he will say to his purchase and we deliver the goods. Now, out of blue, after 9th or 10th delivery, he chargeback us for all the transactions.

We are a small startup company and are feeling lost. Our online credit card authorisation company informed us that if the customer asks for money, we have to give. There is no argument. What if all our customers start using their credit cards and with in 2 or 3 months chargeback? Is there no way a merchant is protected? We have to close shop soon if this continues. We are scared.

Send him a bill.

The customer has taken the goods and not paid for them. Send a bill demanding immediate payment. Get your lawyer involved.

If he doesn't pay, then sue him for the balance.

And make sure that your website T&C clearly state that bills are to be paid immediately and that the customer is responsible for any costs of collecting, including NSF, Chargeback and lawyers fees.
