My daughters father left before she was a year old. He has only made 3 parcial child suport payments she's now almost 5. He has my phone number and address, I have not moved since the last time he called threatening me. That was over 2 years ago.

I have remarried. My now hubby wants to adopt my daughter, and she wants this too. She wants the same last name as everybody else.

My question is how long does he have to be away, with no contact, and non payment, that even if he should catch up on child suport, and contest the adoption, that the judge will still feel it is in my daughters best intrest to let the adoption go through??


My daughter doesn't even know him, she doesn't remember a time when my hsband wasn't there. To her, he is the only Daddy she has ever known.

I will have an att. for this

one more question Will her birth certificate change or do I just get the adoption papers??

I have been searching for links to PA laws and I have found most other states laws, but cannot find a good understandable link to PA laws.
