What is the name of your state? TN
Thank you for taking my questions...

1. Is a neighbor who watches a child part time considered an "employee" or "self employed?" A neighbor recieves a fee for child care services. She watches a child part-time in her home. There are no other "employment" relationships.

2. Is it correct to assume that in order for the payer to take the child care credit on the federal return, these child care payments can be claimed?

1. The neighbor is probably self employed & needs to file schedule C.
2. The payments can be used to claim the CCC. You will need the neighbor's name, address, & SSN.
