What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
I currently have full custody of the children (75/25 ratio) because their mom moved away to another town. I am going to be laid off in January of next year and was already given heads up by my work. I am trying to find work locally and in nearby areas. Should I get a job locally then of course everything is still status quo. Say that I don't get lucky and end up with a job in another town nearby what are my chances that I still have the same current custody arrangement (75/25) with the children should I need to be closer to the new job? I would be looking to move to the new town in the summer time of next year while commuting until then. I'm looking at this at all possible angles and wanted to know my options.
Say the worst case scenario is that I have to work in a different town and while I can still commute back and forth for short term the long term answer is to be closer to it. What are my chances to keep custody of the children say that their mom's location is still about the same distance to current town and to the new town. Instead of heading South she would be heading North instead.
If there are anyone with this kind of experience please share. With the economy the way it is now I can't afford to be too choosey and will have to go where the work is to support the family. TIAWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
