What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

I was wondering if child custody petition papers could be used against someone in a separate criminal case? I recently filed custody papers and on them I told of violent behavior my ex has exhibited in front of our son. And also some things he has done outside of our son's presence. I told of these things because my ex needs help with his anger and I want to make sure my son is safe. As it turns out my ex is going to jail next year on a completely different battery charge against him. People are very upset with me for mentioning some of his behavior because they say it can be used against him. My question is if there was never any police reports and it is just my word could it ever be brought up against him?

They aren't actual documents...just what you wrote on the petition for custody paperwork. Now, if you supplied police reports etc. and they eventually became part of public record...it's possible someone could try to use them in a civil case etc.

Without you saying what, if any, actual documents you have~ no one can really say.
