Ok I hope this is in the right spot if not I will move it.
I have two friends that were arrested friday as the police were called by a neighbor saying one of their children was missing as her sister couldnt find her. the child was with her mother the whole time at the store and the older sister should have known but she is a little level headed sometimes.
Anyways the cops show up the dad was asleep as he just got off work. yes the older daughter was outside playing with other kids as usual in the apt complex. I am uncertain about alot of details as I have yet been able to speek with either of them in jail as no weekend visits.
The police were let in the house by unknown whether the father or daughter. They did speak to the father and I guess they noticed numerous dishes piled in the kitchen which is in the main entrance.
They also noticed alot of laundry piled up on the living room couch/floor. Other than that a normal house with kids meaning their room was messy not a disaster but messy. They also had several moving boxes in the living room as they are still in the process of moving from one apt to the other.
Ok the charge was child neglect and endangerment 2 counts of each charge for the mom, the dad has the same, but also a possesion charge felony as well as he had some weed and again I dont know the amount or much more detail than this.
So I guess the question is on the child neglect charge can that actually stick as their is no neglect at least what I could find on the law. Endangerment yes due to the drugs in the house. What penalty and fine do these charges carry.
The mom has no prior record the dad I know does. Dont know if DHS has ever been involved with them before or not as I dont pry into peoples lives.
Any help on this would be great
