What is the name of your state? cs case in wv

We've been gambling quite a bit lately at casinos and we have won a substancial amount of money in the past six months. (over 10 grand). We have paid taxes on this. None of these winnings have been turned into the child support caseworker. Can they take a portion of these winnings? If we don't even turn it in how will they find out?

If so will it keep them from taking it if I start putting them all in my name and paying the taxes on them myself? (It's my husband who pays child support.)

It is considered taxable income so guess what -- what ever daddy won, it can be used to calculate CS.

And the fact that you and he are illegally claiming the child on your taxes, you have asked about a family member of mom's adopting the child and are now asking about how to make sure they can't take a portion of TAXABLE winnings (income) as child support ... well you are not exactly an aboveboard, honest, law abiding person. And quite frankly I don't think I am going to help you anymore. I will also let the other seniors know about your posting history as you and Left Out seem like you would be very good friends.

Who is Left Out? No I don't think we should report it. That's winnings we won and will probably not win again. We are afraid they will increase the child support because of that. Which wouldn't be fair. So what's the chances of them even finding out? Excuse me for doing "illegal" things. Atleast we work and atleast my husband is paying for his child. It's far more than we can say for Mom in this situation.

The winnings have to be reported on your tax return, despite the fact that taxes have been withheld from them. Therefore it can be found out very easily. You DID I assume, include the winnings on your recently filed tax return? If not, once again you will be in a world of hurt with the IRS, because they are also getting a copy of the W2Gs that were given to you.

Excuse you? Nope. No excuse for you quite frankly. Dad is paying a minimum of child support. Has he provided for the child in ANY other way? Mom is also providing for the child -- quite frankly in a vastly more important way than dad.

Now you see when NEWBIES are keen on the fact that an OP is behaving pathetically and such, that really means the OP is over the line.

I suspect that OP may have been starting threads under different names to get other posters to help her. There was another poster called tone83 also from WV--pretty much the same circumstances who had a question about hubby getting a passport to go on a cruise. She got a serious smackdown from other posters. This same person posted under a different name before using tone83 (also from wv and same series of questions).

I for one think helping this person is a total waste of time!

Oh crap I remember that poster and didn't connect the two. But the fact that Spoofer expects to engage in illegal conduct and have us help her is ridiculous and NOT the reasoning behind this forum.

hahahaha and along comes Wolron.

WolRon --he/she needs to read the entire thread (post 8 and post 9). Then start pulling up old threads--these people owe money to taxpayers. Hard working people, who don't have the time to live in a perpetual state of feeling self entitled. Or the time to post under various different aliases to find new ways to screw over the system.

And could Wolron be another identity.....hmmm that thread seems to have disappeared!
