What is the name of your state? Texas.
My non-resident (and foreign) wife of 5 months recently received public benefits (foodstamps and medicare) for my 18-month infant son in Texas. He is a U.S. citizen who is born overseas (since I am a naturalized U.S. citizen since 1988). As a result, the Child Support office of Texas contacted me for child support. I gracefully complied since he is my biological child and I love him very much -even though I have not seen him for almost 3 months now. His mother took him to a women's shelter because she couldn't cope with the fact that I was in jail (a few days because of a simple domestic violence charge with ONLY her words) because of her calling the cops and couldn't drive the car nor speaking English. I am in the turmoil right now of what to do with the mother because she is not a mean person but just plain ignorant of U.S. law and has a hot temper. I don't think that she cares a great deal about my son (even though she is his biological mother) because of her constant complaints of his hyper actions. What should I do? Should I file for the sole custody of my son and let's my wife deported? Am I financially responsible for his well-being and hospitalization (about 2 weeks ago) when I had no contact with him and my wife?

Any feedbacks and helps are more than welcome. Thank you.
