What is the name of your state? NJ:)

My husband and his ex reached an agreement out of court, when the kids went to live with their mother, for the amount of child support he should pay. I checked on one of those c/s calc's and it's within dollars what would be the court ordered amount. We filed with the court, a signed paper detailing how we arrived at this amount, and that we all decided it amoungst ourselves. A response was sent back, "ok, files" Pretty much...LOL

Well, a few months ago, she wrote us a letter telling us that she only wanted x amount of dollars, payable each 2 weeks. So, we abided by her wishes.

We came to find out, the reason she wanted the reduction is due to the amount of food stamps, and state of NJ assistance depends on the amount of c/s she receives..Isn't this fraud? What should we do??? We started paying her what she asked...No problems have arisen, but what if they do???

Thanks in advance:

myanswer is "WHO CARES?"

Send her the paperwork to amend the child support agreement and tell her she needs to have it notarized and returned so you can file it with the court.

IF she's stupid enough not to do this, then you can do what you want (get that?) with the NJ assistance people. (hint, hint)
