What is the name of your state? Texas

I have been educating myself on Terminating Bio's rights and my husband adopting my daughter. One of the things that I keep reading is that if the Bio is paying child support there isn't anything/much I can do. I want to say once 5 years ago I received a letter from some agency wanting me to contact them regarding child support. I called them, don't remeber the details of the conversation (5yr ago). Next thing I know I had a check in the mail. Is there a way I can find out if he is paying child support and I am just not receiving it or if he in fact is not paying it?

Thanks,
Amber

Did you ever collect welfare?

The fact is, he has the right to object to your petition to terminate his parental rights. You will have no choice but to notify him that you wish to terminate his rights and have your husband adopt the child. Even if he is not paying support he has the right to know this information and the right to object. It's called due process.

Thank you for your response :D ,

Yes, in the begining I did collect welfare. I am under the understanding that because I collected welfare he has to pay the state in which I collected right? Other than that I am not sure if he was ever ordered to pay me personally child support. I absolutely expect him to object, it is sad he would do so just to spite me and not becuase he loves her. :(

I guess my main question is, is there a state agency that I am supposed to contact to find out if other than paying the state he was ordered to pay me individually?

Thanks again for your time,
Amber
