what does child support mean when they say its in the system?

depends on who "they" is.

when I say it's in the system, it means it's being processed.

when the ex says it's in the system, it means the state has it's grubby hands in the pot and is enforcing the child support and the payor can't weasel his way out of it.

when some others say it's in the system, it means "the man" is out to get him/her.

ok so i dont have to pay it right now ? its just in the system in case i mess up he would process it? cause it was check on court papers but no amount was added... so im just tryin to figure out what this means in the system child support...

ok cause on the court paper it was check for child support but no amount.. then i ask my ex and he says it in the system... so thats what im trying to figure out... so this mean im goin to have to pay.. or if i mess up he will start the process?
