My situation is quite bizarre. I am in San Diego, CA and have had major problems getting the child support office to fix their files. 1st prob- My son was 19 in July of last year, daughter was married 1 week before her 17th birthday- The child support division is still sending monthly statements asking for $625.00/mo. There should be no reason to send statements for that because both children are now considered adults. Also, i went to have support modified approx, 1 1/2 year ago, was granted the modification to 470.00/mo. Yet papers have still been asking for the original amount ordered. So of course the interest is still climbing!! Because of all this my license has been suspended (due to past due and non payment of ongoing support. There is no on-going support at all. I've called and of course get the total runaround. What should I do?

when each of the events occured, you should have sent a request to CS office requesting a modification to the order due to their circumstances.

since you did not send the request to stop the support - they don't know to adjust the order. therefore you have shown delinquent and interest will keep piling up until you get it cleared up.

just from the posts that i have read, california has a busy CS office.
