i live in texas. my husband walked out on me and our one year old son this past april. he has been ordered by the court to pay child support but he has missed three as of this date. the child support office says that because the divorce is not final, they can not enforce the payments. my question is then, who does? i have tried several times to get answers from my attorney, but he won't even return my phone calls! (is there anything i can do about this without having to start all over with another attorney? if any attorneys read this, i am told this is common for an attorney to do...is this true?) due to many delays of court dates (by him) the court did not order child support until we finally met on july 30th. he was ordered to start payments as of august 15th. is there any way to get back support payments since he walked out on us in april? i was, and still am for now, a stay at home mom and was not prepared for this in any way! any help would be greatly appreciated!
