I live in TX. I have 2 children from previous marriage. Ex pays child support monthly and has for 8 years. I have been remarried for 3 years and want nothing to do with EX. He hasn't seen the children at least for 7 years. Youngest is 8 and hasn't a clue what her Bio father looks like. I want all parential rights. I do not want child support. Do I have to hire a lawyer for all rights to be signed, if bio father agrees??

Let this be a lesson when trying to make a guy not man be a daddy. It is sometimes easier to struggle and do it alone than prove something like i did. There are wonderful men out there just don't rush to find them. They will be glad to take the responsiblity.

Yes, get an attorney, petition for sole custody, or have your new husband adopt the children. Either way you have to deal with Dad to get the end result.

Thanks for the reply. I know that i have created my own life experiences. It just wasnt until 3 years ago I learned how to manage my life. Dr. Phil has taught me alot over these last 2-3 years,Hope everyone can get what i have from him...
