At what age is the minor child of the non-custodial parent able to determine the amount of time, if any, that he or she spends during court ordered visitation? Example: A 14 year old minor child feels very uncomfortable visiting with non-custodial father, and does not want to spend the entire court ordered summer visitation with him in the state of Indiana.

In order for you as a custodial parent to deny or withold certain periods of visitation (without the consent of the non custodial parent) is for you to go to court to have the visitation changed. At 14 a judge will *listen* to the childs desires on visitation and determine what is best. Have you discussed this with the non custodial parent? He is not willing to comply with the childs wishes? If not, you will need to go to court to have it legally changed so that you will not be held in contempt of court for denied visitation.

Good luck!
