Hi all
Well it’s coming up on 1 year since we filed BK13 and we’re still hanging in there.
I would like to thank everyone who offered advice, it helped a lot.
It has been a big learning curve to adjust to living without credit, but so far so good.
Question how does it work with a tax refund when you are in BK13.
The total return came to $2400.00 due to a few errors and we overpaid our owed taxes.
We sent a copy of our return to the Lawyer who in turn sends it to the trustee. It has been a little over 2 months, how long does it take for them to make a decision on if they want the money from the return and if they don’t want it do they send something stating that?
In calculating taxes last year I ended up with 2 mistakes, 1st. was forgot to add in the child credit for my daughter, and the 2nd. was caused by how my work paid me at the end of the year. I took vacation at year end and the company doesn’t pay in advance so I said I pick my check up when I came back. Instead of coming in during my vacation to get the check.
Well what they did was not issue a check because I wasn’t coming in to pick it up. So when I returned they issued a check. The bad part was that check was issued in 2006 so it didn’t count toward my 2005 earnings making my total income less for the year.
Thanks
