I have a friend who was apparently smuggled in as an infant from Italy and grew up and went to school in the states and is now in his 30's. He has no documentation that I know of other than a driver's license that was confiscated by the INS.

Is there some way that he can file for residency or naturalization?

How is he working or surviving ??

Anyway, if you enter the US illegally then you can no adjust your status to anything. His only option is to see an immigration attorney in case there is some hardship route etc..

Yes, there was a lot missing from the post but the bottom line is that if you enter the US illegally then you are history. How you can survive until that age is hard to understand..
