What is the name of your state? Louisana.

We are remodeling/reconstructing our garage. We went to the city. City asked us for engineer stamped drawings. We did. They approved. We built.

Now, the neighbors are complaining, and the city is asking us to remeasure our footprint. Now we realized that the engineers made our garage 1 foot lager.

Other architects and contractors told us that as a tax paying citizen, we did all of our diligence to the city and followed what the city asked us to do. The city cannot ask us to redo our construction.

How should I say it to the city?

Do we have a sure case to win?

Thanks

Are they lawyers? I'm guessing not.

You already built it and the city may want you to take it down?

I wouldn't be saying anything to the city without hiring a lawyer to do the talking.

What do you mean that the engineers made the footprint one foot larger? Larger than what?

Was this larger footprint accurate on the submitted plans?

What is the specific problem with it being larger?
