Can someone tell me what I should. Im having a dispute with a police department. I have been imprisoned for 7 months and released without explaination. Now I am having emotional trouble when they approach me. Is there some kind of specific counter I could take keeping me from having to talk to them. I thought to call 911 and ask for highway patrol. Can someone tell me what alternative they could think of?

Don't call 911. Don't call the highway patrol either - they are part of the police department and will not help if you have a complaint about them.

Before we can advise you further, we need answers to the following two questions:

1. What is the name of your US state?

2. Why were you in jail for seven months?

Well, perhaps not doing anything that would cause the police to approach you? Since we do not know why they imprisoned you for 7 months and then released you without explanation its hard to suggest anything else.

When you were first arrested, were you given the opportunity to call a relative or call an attorney? Did you call anyone? If so, was it a relative or an attorney?

You do not need to be afraid of anything if the police approach you. If you have done nothing wrong, then just answer their questions honestly and go on about your way.

You do need to talk to a local attorney so he/she can advise you whether your civil rights were violated and so they can also get a copy of the police report regarding your incident so you can try to figure out why you were arrested the first time.
