My husband passed away almost 3 months ago. He died without a will on the advice of his atty. His estate was tiny, and the lawyer felt that it would be too costly to probate.
I just got a call from a sheriff's deputy, and he said that Les' daughter has files a complaint against me for "allowing her father to die", and for witholding his estate, etc. etc. etc.
I have to meet with the deputy and the daughter to answer her complaints. I have written to her explaining everything, but she does not believe me ( she is a paranoid, and is convinced that the medical profession holds the cure for cancer but won't cure patients because of money they make on chemo)
I answered all the deputy's questions openly and honestly, because that is who I am. He seems to think that Carmen is just trying to cause trouble for me.
But...I am worried that after these complaints are dealt with, she won't stop...can she file a civil lawsuit ? She will nickle and dime me to death if she can. Her boyfriend is a native american and gets $4K a month in casino shares, and she will be able to drag this out.
