What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Is there a lawyer that will take my civil rights/discrimination lawsuit on consignment? The city I live in took my children based on my disability.

Attorneys do not troll this site looking for clients. You can either use the "Find an Attorney ..." link to your right, or look in your local phone book.

And I doubt that the reason cited by authorities is that you are disabled. More than likely the reason is that you are somehow incapable of adequately caring for your children. Even if as a result of a valid disability, it can still be valid. For instance if you have an infant and you are subject to repeated grand moll seizures each day, you might be subject to losing the children unless properly medicated or unless another adult is available to care for the children.

Yes it is illegal discrimination against the disabled, I don't care what you think about why they did this, I'll take it all the way to the supreme court if i have to.

**A: consignment is for pawn shops and the like. You mean on a contingency basis.

And you may very well lose. Why were your children removed? If you cannot care for your children then the state can step in regardless of whether you are disabled or not.

What reasons did they cite for the removal of your children? What circumstances led to their removal.

They did not take the children because you are disabled. They took the children because it was concluded that you were not taking care of them.
Now, even if it is because of your specific disability ( which you are purposely
not explaining?) that causes you to be unable to care for your children, that is not the agency's fault.

Whew...the supreme court??? That is going to be expensive. I think you need to do a lot more research ( and soul searching ) before you take on the Supreme Court.

Note to self (and others on this board):

If you are trolling an internet message board for an attorney to take on your case, as opposed to just finding one right in the neighborhood that you live in (because I guarantee you, there is at least one around), then you don't have the money to take your case all the way to the Supreme Court - and no attorney in their right mind is going to take a losing case, on contingency down the block, much less that far knowing the only thing they are going to do is embarrass themselves and effectively ruin their career.

To everyone that repiled I appreciate the comments if it comes from trying to save me time, money, and frustration. I have contacted several lawyers about this and some say no, some say yes, but it would be difficult, and some say yes there is grounds for civil rights and discrimination against me. Court Clerk is not entirely right to say that there is not a soul on the planet that would side with me just because he/she doesn't.

Well if you already spoke to someone who said yes, why are you on here still trolling for attorneys? Go with them... be fruitful. GO FOR IT!

Thanks for the sincerity Court Clerk. Just wondering, why do read these things?

Why are you here? Seriously. You found an attorney that sides with you. HIRE THEM. Because you are not actually giving any information so that anyone here can tell you anything. AND NO ONE HERE -- at least no one credible -- is going to volunteer to represent you in court just because you posted.

OG,
As you may have guessed, I suspect the reason why the OP isn't disclosing the specifics of the situation is because CPS really did have just cause to take the children. Disability or not, no one has the right to neglect their children or put them in danger. We have all read many times on this board where people (right or wrong) have disclosed the specifics of their case only to find that either (1) CPS was justified in their actions or (2) CPS was not justified in their actions. However, in this case, we'll never know because she's not telling.

Nevertheless, the OP has indicated that there is at least 1 attorney who is willing to take her case on the basis of some sort of discrimination which gives her the right to do whatever it is to her children that CPS says state law says she can't. There is no reason to keep going on and on with this thread, we should let the OP chase her own tail instead of all of us chasing it with her.

CPS reunifies parents and children all the time, not to allow abuse, but because the parents made positive changes. Thats rediculous to say thats wrong of them. You dont have to reply to the thread if you dont want to, you made the choice to
