What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Elk Grove, CA

My thread is based on the Adult Foster Family Home that I reside in that is vendered through the California Mentor Network. I moved into this mentor home on April 23, 2009; however, it is my plan now to reside in another mentor home.

I have the following questions regarding civil rights: Does my service coordinator from California Mentor Network have the right to force me to go to the meetings she sets up with me every week. (these meetings are based on my care provider and me to see how we were doing in the home)

You really don't give enough information to answer this question. It sounds as if you may have a contractual relationship with this mentor network. That means that they probably agreed to provide certain things to you and you probably agreed to do certain things in return. More than likely you signed some document somewhere along the way that stated what they were going to do and what you were to do. However, a contractual agreement does not have to be in writing in order to exist. It would be hard to believe that they would provide the services you describe and not have some requirements. You need to decide if the cost (of attending the meetings) is worth the benefit (of the home).

This is not a civil rights issue. This is a contract issue.
