Hello I sued my last job and won a settlement.. They said on the 15th day after the agreement was signed I would receive my check.. Now y do they wait until the last day to do so? I had gotten a request for a w9 form for tax reasons and that was on the 13th day n I was told that it is 15 days after the w9 is filed.. Anyhow since yet have had over a month to get me my money y do they wait until last min.. And what happenes if they miss the deadline by even a day?

Why do they wait? Because they can... why pay now when they can pay later? That's pretty typical. If they miss the deadline, they'll probably owe you interest-- but it might also depend on your state and what's in your settlement agreement.

If the agreement says that they must pay by this date and they don't then I guess you can let them know the settlement is dead...if you wanted to
