Hello. I am interested in getting some legal things straightened out. Several years ago, I was arrested in Texas for DWI, but it never ended up in court. In 1995, according to current records, the case was closed due to "failure to apprehend".
One of the attorneys who had done work in the past for the company for which I work mentioned something called expunction to me as a possible solution for my problem.
Another reason I am asking is because I had had another one back in 1986 that went to court in '87. I had plead nolo contendere. I thought they might look at both of these and decide to pursue the second one again. And, a week before the second DWI arrest, I had been arrested PI. (Yeah, it was a very lousy week.)
I am trying to sort through this before I proceed. I would like to pursue a course to get all this cleared up if possible. Are there statutes of limitation for DWI and PI arrests? Is it based on the arrest date or ???
Also, what might be a ballpark amount for how much a person might expect to pay and how long this might take.
I have an official Texas ID card, but do not drive nor have a driver's license. If I were to go try and get a license, would the case have to be re-opened before I could possible be arrested again or could I just get grabbed at a local license branch?
thanks
