What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? The case is for Arkansas, but I live in WA
My husband died 2 days before our divorce was final. No will, no life-insurance, a practice that was co-signed by my parents which was turned over to them (legally), a house that was mortgaged for more than it was worth, student loans of over $100k - get the idea? NO assets at all. Only significant debt. B/c we were still technically married, I became the administratrix of the estate. I had to file bankruptcy for the practice, him, us, and me. My lawyer who was originally handling the divorce and then estate was negligent and realizes it. I would like to close probate (It has been since March 2003), but cannot get him to return my calls. The only bills I still get regarding my deceased husband are statements from the IRS about his delinquent taxes, but the IRS told me that I wasn't tied to his or the practice's taxes, so I just need to send back the statements marked deceased - which I have done. I have no money to retain another lawyer. How can I close probate myself? I live in WA now, but everything related to the estate is for the state of AR.
Thanks for your response
