What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

I am the director of entertainment at my American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta Georgia. I run our Friday and Saturday night dances. I want to advertise and promote the dances as club 201. I found nothing in a search in Georgia, but in other states there are some club 201's several that state copy rights by there name. Can I use the name for my promotions or is it a issue...Thank you John Emerich

If the title bears a copyright, you could be sued for using it without permission. Can you do something like Post Alpharetta or Post 201?

You may not be able to copyright the title of a book, but the OP didn't want to do that. He wanted to copyright the name of a place of entertainment.

Since you've apparently already answered his question, it's moot. I don't have the ability to check the content of past posts and answers.

You still can't copyright a name PERIOD. Be it the title of a book or the name of a club. He might have trademark issues, but I suspect he does NOT.
We discussed this in his previous thread on the subject and there is no new information here. In fact, there are no other registered users of the mark and the only other apparent "Club 201" use in commerce are sufficiently distant, non-competing, and non-famous that he probably has no fear of confusion of dilution issues.
