collecting court ordered money

I was awarded in my divorce hearing money, and in the decree it states that he has 30 days from the date that it was entered (which was 04/06/01) to provide all items awarded in the final divorce decree. Does this include that money? It was money that he was ordered to pay from six months prior on a temporary order, attorney's fees, and money that he hid in a vacation fund. If so, how do I go about getting this money? Also, can I file contempt charges on him for not paying his court ordered child support? It isn't the first time that he has fallen behind. I have brought the state in on it before and it took them six months to catch up with him before they took it out of his check and then the new order came out and I have to start over.

Collecting is tough!

I am replying to your questions about enforcing child support. We have very similar cases. My ex is self-employed
with no assets and has not paid for 18 months. I recently took him back to court for "Contempt Charges'. Neither of us had a lawyer and after I filed, had him served, took time off work, and when we got there in front of the commissioner, He said"You need to work this out between you" and if you want to pursue this you will need to hire an attorney and go before the judge". I was throughly discusted. If I am nice I don't get child support, if I am mean I don't. I lose both ways and the state of Utah has done nothing to help me.
If you can hire a Good Attorney you may have a chance but doing it on your own well don't waste your time.

If your case is already with the state, they should just update it the new order, as soon as it is signed. Collecting is another matter, especially if someone is self-employed.
If your ex doesn't want to pay support, then he will always find ways around it. The best advice that I was given was to learn to live without it. Then, if you receive it, you have a bonus. It doesn't mean that my ex is off the hook, but I don't depend on him. That way I'm never disappointed in his herculean efforts (sarcasm).
I will agree with Kelly about going to court for contempt in Utah. Whenever I've gone before my commissioner, my ex has more rights than I do. They just want to get to the next case so they can leave early for golf.
