What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

I bought a house in 2005 and it was foreclosed on and sold in 2006. I believe there was a surplus after the sale.

Is there a statute of limitations on how long after the sale I could collect any potential surplus?

So have you searched the property tax records to see what it was sold for after you let it go so you know for sure if there was a surplus or not ? ( that sort of information is public info)

I found the property record but it doesn't say how much it was sold for...

I have to buy a subscription to find out how much it was sold for.. if there was a surplus, would I still be able to collect? It sold 04/2007.

This page has a PDF form for claiming a surplus: http://www.hallcounty.org/depts/taxcomm/taxsales.asp

It does not state a time limit, but my search was quick. Contact your county (or web search) for similar.
