What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MN

My husband had an account go to collections under his business (LLC), well they left him a message and he didn't respond right away so they called me (I am in no way associated with the business) and threatened me by seizing my paychecks, and my son's SSI. I know you are going to say to have my husband ask this question, he knows he has a business debt and he is trying hard to pay it off but can they threaten me even though I am not associated with the business.

You are in no way of danger.

1. SSI cannot be garnished even if your son owned the business.
2. You did not sign an agreement for the debt so regardless of your your marriage you are not responsible. The signer is the only person or in this case "entity" that is responsible.

You are just dealing with a collector that is not worried about what they say in hopes of scaring you into paying. Tell them to send you there intentions of their actions in writing and watch them hang up.

they cannot do anything to you

if they call again tell them if they don't stop you will file police reports for harrassment.
